De grot van Algar van Benagil is een van de mooiste natuurlijke monumenten ter wereld!
Bekend als Algar de Benagil, is het een natuurlijke holte gevormd door erosie, ongeveer 20 miljoen jaar oud, en gelegen ten westen van het kleine stadje in de Algarve waaraan het zijn naam dankt.

Kom altijd 30 minuten voor aanvang van de tour aan.
Je moet je gids zoeken naast het restaurant "O Algar", hij zal daar op je wachten.
De tour begint op het strand van Benagil.
Voor privérondleidingen kunt u uw verzoek indienen:

De dag en het tijdstip van de tour kunnen worden gewijzigd als gevolg van zee- en weersomstandigheden.

Benagil Caves with great tour guides!

It was fun to get to go through all the grottos and spot the animals in the cliffs. The gorilla was my favorite. We got to go through smaller caves and ended the trip with visiting the famous Benagil cave where we got out of our kayak to take a bunch of photos. It's way better than a boat tour since those tours you must remain in the boat and not be able to get close to the caves. The tour guides were all nice and showed us the best parts of Benagil. The meeting point is by O Algar restaurant which is easy to find. Make sure you have a lot of energy, the kayak is tiring but a whole lot of fun!

Kayaking in the caves was incredible! Our guides were so knowledgeable about how to navigate the caves & about their natural history. I’d recommend this tour versus kayaking by yourself as there is tons of traffic from other tours & boats.

It was a great tour. Got to go into the pirates cave and to the Benagil cave. A arm workout. The kayaks were already down the mountain so it was no work at all.

Fun for all even with choppy seas

This tour was amazing!! Waters were fairly rough so we only went into the main cave, but Nuno was super professional, ensured everyone was safe the entire time and was also very informative! Compared to other tours near us, I thought our guides really went above and beyond keeping the group together, ensuring everyone saw all the neat little details both on shore and in the water. The caves are gorgeous, the cliffs are gorgeous, overall it was a really fun day in the water. Would highly recommend.

Kayaking Tour Benagil Caves

Nice Activity to book if you seek some combination of action and exceptional sightseeing. Our guides showed us the beautiful caves and natural rock figures, all within looking out for our safety. Personally, the most beautfiul moment during the activity was the stop at Praia Da Marinha as the benagil caves were quite busy on that day. All in one: definetely recommend :)

Hire a kayak yourself

Experience was abit underwhelming, to actually get everything set up and into the water to kayak took too long and ate up time of the experience, we booked for 2hr experience and realistically we were in the kayak maybe 45min to an hour, went to two caves and animal looking rocks. Our Instructor was nice, I think either smaller group 4 people max per group, so that you can get on the water quicker and not have to faff around. Probably better to hire a kayak yourself and kayak to the caves without the tour guide to be honest. Then there is no time restraint. The whole experience wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. It said when we booked 'secret spots' but they were pretty open and not exactly secret.
