With SecretAlgarve you will be able to enter and leave several caves at the foot of the Grotto of Benagil. Secretalgarve offers you the unique opportunity to go out in the grotto of Benagil to take pictures on Grotto beach (not allowed in usual visits with motorboats).

The best way to visit the Bengali cave and be able to be inside to take photos. Also to see the spectacular coastline from the water is amazing. The guides are professionals, excellent and keep you safe.

We did the 0830 tour. Mike and his staff were very polite and professional from the beginning. The waves were a bit larger on our journey and the guys were completely knowledgeable in how to get us on and off the shore between the rollers. The scenery is gorgeous and the weather was perfect. Pedro and Samuel did a great time taking our group out to see the caves. We got to explore and the caves and both kept our safety #1. They offered us history of the caves, took pictures for us, and were very professional. It was wonderful to spend about 20 minutes on the beach cave. Priceless moment

We loved it! We kayaked a lot before but never on the ocean so it was a wonderful experience. It’s kinda busy with all the other kayak and boat tours but our guide, who was terrific, made sure we weren’t all at the same time in a cave etc.
Pablo (If I remember correctly?) had great stories and explanations about the caves.
Would definitely recommend doing this while staying in the Algarve!

Great Way to Experience the Algarve

We did the 8:30 am Benagil Kayak Experience trip. This is a great way to experience the rock formations and caves of the Algarve. While this is a super popular destination with tons of kayaks and sightseeing boats the early morning trips are a little less crowded. If you really want to avoid the crowds try their sunrise trip. The Benagil algar, a large cave with a hole in the top, is less than a 5 minute paddle from Benagil beach. It’s an impressive sight. They spend about 30 minutes at the algar which is about 15 minutes too long but it does give everyone a chance to get all the photos they want. After the algar we continued down the coast and entered 3 more caves, 2 were a short loop and 1 was a short out and back. We also took a quick spin through some beautiful formations down the coast.
We were a total of 20 guests in 10 double kayaks with 3 guides. There were also other groups in the area as well as sightseeing boats. One of guides, Marcel, told me that it’s even more crowded in the afternoons with tons of boat traffic. The sit-on-top kayaks are super stable. You get in and out on the sand and the guides push you into the sea and pull you out. The algar de Benagil is the only place you get out other than back on the Benagil beach where the tour starts.
This is easy kayaking with generally calm seas. Secret Algarve does a safety and instructional talk before you head down to the beach and outfits you with life jackets and dry sacks. They also have storage lockers for any valuables you don’t want to take on the kayak. You can leave your shoes in a bucket at the beach and do the trip barefoot. You do get wet on this trip so plan accordingly. The temperature in early September was perfect in the morning. I was not too cold or too hot wearing a long sleeve sun shirt. We spent 1.5 to 2 hours on the water.

The tour guide are very encouraging, they unlock my friend's skill on Kayaking...it's my friend s first time to Kayak..I thought I would need to look after her throughout the whole trip...but the team did an excellent job to protect everyone's safety and cheer up those who scare water and don't know Kayaking...the scenery along the cave area and the seaside in Algarave is out of this world....hope to come back next year...

It was a great experience overall and the guides were excellent. There is not anywhere to rinse off, so make sure you bring some water in your car to rinse your feet.

Very nice and competent guides! It was quite challenging because of the waves but the guides handled everything very very well. Kind of crowded but of course it is as its one of the main attractions. Overall a great adventure on the water. P.s: thanks for the cap ;-)

The tour guides were absolutely amazing. Mike was so informative, helpful and funny. He gave us so much information about the caves and made sure everyone was having a great time in the most stunning setting. Benagil was absolutely incredible.
There was another couple who was not following the kayaking rules and he immediately was on top of the situation, calm and made sure everyone was safe.
At the end of the tour I developed a bad migraine ( I’m very migraine prone) and could not see the last cave and the second tour guide so kindly helped us back to the beach.
Overall, what an amazing experience with wonderful guides!!

Great activity with very friendly and experienced guides. If you want to go kayaking to the Caves, always choose this activity with a guide, don't rent only kayak going by your own...you will need help in the caves for boarding and leaving. Also the guides will lead you safely to other smaller and worth seeing caves around and tell you few stories about the caves and the area.
No need to be a heavy sporty person for this activity, good basic health is enough. It was my first time kayaking and great experience. I would have enjoyed even bit longer tour!

We absolutely loved our kayak tour with Secret Algarve. Our tour guide was fantastic; he was very knowledgeable, safe, and a patient person. We were able to quickly get out onto the water and saw many beautiful sites including several beaches. Of course we explored Benagil Cave and it was an amazing experience being able to land and walk around inside. Dry bag and locker storage were provided. This was the highlight of our time in the Algarve and this company was a key part of it.

The entire team was super responsive (I moved my tour to a different day because of weather) and incredibly accommodating as a solo traveler. This was a great time and the Benagil cave was stunning! We went in December which was the best time to go since there were no other tourists. Water was a bit chilly but totally worth it. The guide was great and helped us feel comfortable on the kayaks.

For this kind of experience you must trust the team in full. There are things that can go wrong. So please choose carefully. Secret Algarve is the team to choose. Those guys are professional and experienced. They know what are they doing. My tour was during winter so it was at the risk of not happening at all. Initial day was postponed one day but it was for everyone's safety. And still waves could be challenging sometimes. But what a great experience that was. Because of the quiet season there was no one in the cave apart from our tour. This is the way to experience that place! I also went for a "full experience" option (if you know, you know) and thanks to Diogo it was the best part of the tour, allow me to tell amazing stories to my friends. Thank you guys. You are doing great work there. Thank you for making the memories I will always keep with me.

Did a 1030 trip in November and it was busy enough - can’t imagine how crazy it must get in high season. Definitely go as early as you can to avoid the crowds
Think it might be useful to wear helmets as very possible for you to bang your head on cave walls, especially if sea is rougher than it was for us. In UK this would be a safety cert
Guide’s humour was a bit cringy at times but this is personal preference. He was just trying to enthuse the group I guess
Instruction on water was not always clear or easy to hear - then guide got a bit frustrated and shouty when you didn’t do exactly as he wanted
Overall, very pleased with the service and would recommend this company
